Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
My name is Herin Kim. I grew up in Uganda as an MK and now serve as a teacher at a Christian school in Seoul. As someone who always loved traveling, vacations for me often meant exploring new places. But over time, God shifted my heart from traveling for myself to using these opportunities and our God given gifts to serve His Kingdom.
While I was praying about mission opportunities, Pastor Sangmin shared about a mission trip to Mongolia and the need for teachers. From what I've learned, Mongolia is a country deeply rooted in Buddhist and shamanistic traditions with strong cultural barriers to the gospel. Government restrictions prevent foreigners from sharing the gospel openly, and church growth and ministries have slowed. Hearing this news I ask God, “With the language barrier and the reality that foreigners cannot openly share the gospel, how can we help?” Then I came across Acts 1:8, “but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” God’s Word is a promise that the Holy Spirit will equip us with everything we need and that it goes beyond language. Though I do not fully know how I will be of help, I trust that God will show His power through our weakness and obedience.
We are the ones going, but God calls all of us to be a part of His story. We need your prayerful support for the children and staff at the Mongol Kid's Home. Please also pray for our mission team that we will be filled with His love and that we may become His light that reflects Jesus love through our actions and words. While we cannot openly share the gospel, we can respond if someone asks. So please pray that God will soften hearts and create opportunities for His truth to be received.
